Blood, Sweat, Treason and Cricket: An Evening with Henry Olonga
Tuesday 10th November
Forthill Sports Club,
7:30pm, £10
Henry Olonga is going to be in Broughty Ferry in November and has asked Forfarshire to host the above event. The bar will be open and there will be a buffet.
All profits from the event will go to aid street children in Zimbabwe.
Henry is a former professional cricketer, who played Test cricket for Zimbabwe. When he made his Test debut in January 1995, he was the first black cricketer, and the youngest person, to play for Zimbabwe. His international career came to an end after he and team mate Andy Flower wore black armbands during a game at the 2003 Cricket World Cup to "mourn the death of democracy" in Zimbabwe. Death threats forced him to live in exile in England. He is now pursuing a career as an after dinner speaker, commentator and singer.
