Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Meeting Centre Manager is the front-line operational manager for the Meeting Centre. They manage the overall service, including line management of staff and volunteers.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Providing structure and leadership in daily activities for members of the Meeting Centre;
  • Maintaining an adequate staff team appropriate to contract requirements and client/staff ratios, including involvement in recruitment and selection and involvement of volunteers;
  • Recruitment, supervision, appraisal, induction, development and performance management of staff and volunteers working within the Management Committee and Volunteer Development Worker;
  • Operational management of the service related budget;
  • Drawing up an individual support plan and appropriate risk assessments for members and family members;
  • Organising the group programme of activity and intervention;
  • Leading the discussion group for the family members;
  • Organising community meetings;
  • Overseeing opportunities for members to have individual and couples consultations;
  • Providing guidance regarding individual problems of couples and if necessary, referring them to other support organisations;
  • Organising and chairing a monthly meeting centre meeting for all the people at who are involved in the support project;
  • Evaluating the support plans;
  • Maintaining contact with referrers;
  • Liaising with the Management Committee;
  • Leading Centre public relations activity.

 

Additional responsibilities:

  • Complying with the data protection regulations, ensuring that information on members remains confidential.
  • Undertaking personal learning and development;
  • Supporting personal learning and development for staff members and volunteers, working with the Management Committee and Volunteer Development Worker;
  • Working collaboratively with the Management Committee, and its sub-groups, to secure the ongoing viability of the Meeting Centre
