Disability Cricket Champions

15 Apr 2021

We are delighted to have been selected as one of Cricket Scotland’s Disability Champion Clubs for 2021 and are looking forward to being part of this exciting new National initiative. This is an important next step in our development as a community focused sports club; it will help us to become a more inclusive club offering new opportunities for people to participate in our sport.

This National recognition will help us to build on our existing work to make cricket accessible to all and our plans include:

  • offering regular and year-round opportunities for people of all abilities and physical capabilities to play cricket together and have fun
  • establishing table cricket in the area
  • participating in Cricket Scotland festivals and competitions

The early emphasis will be on fun - creating opportunities for people to take part in socially orientated cricket activities.

Over time, we hope to create playing pathways that will offer progression to those who like their sport to be a bit more competitive.

And we want to develop all of these new initiatives by working in partnership with local organisations and cricket clubs in the area.

We’re keen to hear from anyone interested in working with us to make cricket accessible to more people in Angus. If you want to know more, email us at strathmorecc@hotmail.com or send us a PM via our social media channels.
