TryZone Plus is an exciting new multi-sports programme for young adults living with disabilities. It will provide opportunities to take part in new and familiar sports, offering a mix of individual and team sports activities.
TryZone Plus will run on Monday afternoons from 1.15–3.15pm at the Saltire Centre in Arbroath, commencing on Monday 12 October 2026.
Participation will be open to young adults between the ages of 16 and 26, who are no longer in full-time education at school or college.
There will be no charge for participants.
The programme will be operated by a partnership involving Strathmore Cricket Club and Strathmore Community Rugby Trust, with funding support from Angus Council (Active Schools) and Angus Alive.
Sessions will be delivered by qualified sports coaches, with experience in running activities for children and adults with additional support needs.
The range of activities offered will include cricket, touch rugby, football, badminton, basketball and much more – with the programme adjusting to reflect the interests and abilities of participants.
TryZone Plus is a sports programme, but it’s also an opportunity for people to spend time with friends (old and new) and to develop important life skills.
Places on the programme are limited and will be filled on a “first come, first served basis” for those who are eligible to take part. The eligibility criteria are:
· Being between the ages of 16 and 26 years and not in full-time education
· Having the capability to participate safely
· Having a carer or support worker to accompany participants or being able to demonstrate the capacity to participate independently
