Junior Cricket 4/6 - Covid Update

04 Jun 2021

We are aware of some concerns regarding the reported Covid outbreak in Kirriemuir and wanted to clarify the position regarding tonight’s All Stars and Dynamos cricket session.

The session will be going ahead as usual.

Any families in the Kirriemuir area affected by the outbreak should already have been contacted and advised on the action they should take.

Our standard operating procedure is that people should not attend cricket sessions at Strathmore if:

  • any member of their household has had a positive test for Covid 19, or is awaiting a test result
  • they, or anyone in their household, has been contacted and asked to self-isolate
  • anyone in their household is demonstrating covid symptoms and awaiting a test
  • anyone in their household has had contact with someone entering the country within the last 10 days

There are obviously a lot of people at Lochside on a Friday evening. To minimize risks, we will continue to work with the children in groups that fall within guidelines for cricket and expect that parents bringing them along will adhere to Scottish Government guidelines on social contact and physical distancing.

If we all continue to adhere to the guidelines, we remain confident that we can run a safe session tonight.

Beyond this, we appreciate that there may be some families apprehensive about coming along to a session, as a result of what they are hearing or reading in the press or online. Our advice is that if you don’t feel comfortable about coming along, stay at home – and maybe enjoy your Friday night cricket in the garden or a local park.

That said, we hope to see everyone tonight. We have another good forecast and are looking forward to another great session.
