Rugby Club VI crowned champions

The curtain was brought down on the 2012 cricket season on Sunday with the playing of the Factory Cup. 

4 teams took part in the event which took the format of a round robin followed by a 3rd/4th playoff and a Final.

The teams were:
  • Open up a can of whoop ass (Cricketer: Norman Milton)
  • Hashtag's Followers (Cricketer: Craig McDonald)
  • Peter Pan's VI (Cricketer: Ed Taylor)
  • Rugby Club VI (Cricketer: Mark Stewart)

After the group stage 3 teams were tied on 2 wins each with only 2 able to contest the final. Following some late call offs, Hashtag's Followers had been allowed to field an extra cricketer throughout rather than play a man short. This fact was used as the tie-breaker with the 2 "legal" teams going through.

3rd/4th Play-off:

Hashtag's Followers - 81 for 0

Final:

Rugby Club VI - 60 for 4
Peter Pan's VI - 53 for 2

Champions: Rugby Club VI

The runner-up team were awarded £50.
The winners claimed the £100 first prize and also were awarded a further £100 to go to a charity of their choice - Lippen Care - courtesy of Strathmore Funeral Directors.
