MEETING CENTRE
SUPPORT WORKER

20 hours per week
Fixed term contract
Salary - £11,185 per annum

We are seeking a highly motivated and committed individual to work as a Support Worker for people living with dementia and their family carers who attend our Meeting Centre.

You will have a good general education (to SCQF level 7) and a qualification in social care or working with communities would be an advantage. You will also be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme or be willing to join.

Experience in working with people living with dementia is essential, as is previous involvement in working in a community setting

You will have knowledge of dementia and the needs of people and families adjusting to living with a dementia diagnosis. Knowledge of Meeting Centres and their ethos would be an advantage.

Working with people is central to this post and you will have excellent inter-personal skills and be a good communicator, both aurally and in writing.

Strong team working skills are necessary, as is the ability to motivate people and implement a person-centred approach.

You will be able to use IT (Office applications) to support the administrative aspects of the role.

This is a people centred post in a small community led organisation which requires you to build trust with Centre Members, colleagues, partner agencies and committee members. You will also have to be flexible and creative as you work to develop and deliver a high-quality service which makes a positive contribution to the quality of life experienced by people living with dementia.

The post is part-time for 20 hours per week and for an initial period of 14 months.
