Match report The game against Kinloch was the third successive game between the two sides in the space of a week with Strathmore running out winners again by 5 wickets. Kinloch won the toss and chose to bat first on a dry and relatively hard pitch following a week of bright sunshine.
The Kinloch openers, Hamza Khan and Mohsin Ali, made a bright start putting on 28 runs in the first 4 overs before Hamza was bowled by the Strathmore captain, Liam Sweeney. This represented Kinloch’s best start in the three games.

The good start continued as Mohsin and Rahem Razak put on 68 runs in the next 10 overs, as Strathmore’s first change bowlers struggled to contain the hard-hitting duo.

Liam Sweeney brought himself back on in the 15th over and was immediately rewarded with the wicket of Mohsin Ali, taking a sharp catch of his own bowling. Unfortunately for Kinloch the loss of Mohsin Ali was the start of a middle order batting collapse as they lost 6 wickets in the final 5 overs for the addition of 33 runs, setting Strathmore 130 to win at a rate of 6.6 runs and over.

Imran Saim was the pick of the Strathmore bowlers on the day with 5 wickets for 17 runs in his three overs.

Strathmore’s opening batsmen, Haydn Evans and Imran Saim, matched Kinloch’s solid start with a partnership of 25 runs in the first 4 overs with Haydn the first wicket down. Unfortunately for Kinloch Strathmore’s batting line up proved a little more resilient with Sami Ejaz to the fore sharing partnerships of 34 runs with Matthew Simpson and 29 runs with Jonnie Blackie.

Sami scored 15 runs of the first 5 balls of the 17th over and was unlucky not to register his 2nd half century of the season, finishing on 46 not out, as Haseeb Kiyani hit the winning runs of the last ball of the 17th over.
